About

Steve started his professional career under the tutelage of Ed Martin, PGA Professional in Beaverstown Golf Club before moving to Portmarnock Golf Club where he served under Joey Purcell, Head PGA Professional.

He was appointed the Head PGA Professional in Balcarrick Golf Club in 2011 and has grown the retail and teaching business substantially. He has developed a strong reputation as a coach and has produced a number of top quality golfers who compete on the Irish Championship circuit. Steve works with golfers of all ages and abilities with the express aim of improving their technique and enjoyment of the game. Steve mixes technical development with on-course strategies to maximise player performance.

The Junior Program at The Learning Centre is a structured development program for children from the age of 4 years and upwards. The program uses a colour coded cap system as the children improve and develop their skills. Regular assessments give the children the opportunity to show how they are improving and where appropriate, earn their new cap colour.

As well as developing the outdoor teaching area in Balcarrick Golf Club to include a 300 yard full swing area, pitching & chipping green and practice bunkers, Steve has built an indoor teaching centre called ‘The Learning Centre’ where he uses the latest technology including TrackMan and high-speed video.

Steve is a qualified PGA Instructor, TPI Level 2 Instructor and TrackMan Level 2 Instructor.
